Panoramic Susquehanna River View
During a recent photo session for the Susquehanna National Heritage Area we were treated to these unexpected azure blue skies. Our photographer, John Beatty, captured this aerial panorama over the Susquehanna River from North to South ( Left to Right). The river here, known as Lake Clarke, spans about a mile across. From here the river runs 35 miles through 2 hydro-electric dams dumping 3 billion gallons of fresh water into the Chesapeake Bay each day. Also being the longest river in the Eastern United States, the ecological health of the Chesapeake Bay is extremely dependent on the health of this river.
